nic and i were in a mild state of shock yesterday to discover that an old friend/acquaintance of our from our teenage years has pled guilty to a bunch of sexual offences… really stunned us because we just would never have guessed it (i suppose that’s one of the problems with this stuff), and because it was so close to us. good chance we probably know some of the victims too, possibly, and it’s horrible to think that some of this might have been going on while we had a bunch of contact with him.

yeah – we refused to take a young guy into our house recently. We both agreed he didn’t ‘look like a threat to our kids’, but then what does that person actually look like?
