Hi Mark. Came across your blog the other day…thought I’d drop in and say ‘hi’. Glad to see you’ve also converted to Mac. Have had a G4 since college days, and a G4 powerbook that I replaced with my current MacBook… Will probably soon replace the G4 at home… mmmm.
Macs are just so refreshingly user-friendly for those who want to just ‘get the job done’. IT techs don’t seem to like them much – but I suspect that may be because they’d probably be out of job if the complex world of PC didn’t exist.
Say g’day to Nicki and the kids – I guess you’d be giving driving lessons these days!?

yep – i’d say two things… firstly, i just enjoy using my computer more, especially because using it just means opening it up, as opposed to the long-winded windoze wait. macs are just nice to use.

secondly, i don’t mind paying for software because the software is generally quite good – well-written and gets the job done nicely. I think you’re right about that – and most of the software isn’t overly pricey either, which is nice… unless it’s microsoft! i can’t believe the ridiculous price of mac office. i’d do without it if we weren’t now using exchange on our server.

Yep Apple store rocks. Always super fast shipping.

I don’t know about you but I’ve noticed I’m generally more happy to pay for software for my Mac than I was for my PC. Maybe it’s partly because there’s less freeware available but I also think it’s because using the Mac is such a more enjoyable experience I want to fill it with good programs to get things done.

As a recent convert to Apple, I am enjoying getting to know my new MacBook Pro. Everyday I learn something cool and it really is easy to use.
