Apple magic
say what you like about Apple (have i mentioned lately how much i love my macbook?!), but they know about design and they know about customer service. i LOVE using the Apple online store – the speed and smoothness of transactions is amazing.
i ordered something yesterday arvo and got it today. now that’s impressive.
i remember when i pre-ordered the mac osx leopard upgrade – i expected it to rock up a couple of days after the official launch, and was shocked to have it turn up on my doorstep at lunch time on the day of the official launch. that’s cool and worth paying for.
so, what else can i buy?
(actually, there’s too much i like at the Apple store, so i have to ration out my visits…)
Hey Mark,
As a recent convert to Apple, I am enjoying getting to know my new MacBook Pro. Everyday I learn something cool and it really is easy to use.
Rick - March 28th, 2008 at 6:47 amYep Apple store rocks. Always super fast shipping.
I don’t know about you but I’ve noticed I’m generally more happy to pay for software for my Mac than I was for my PC. Maybe it’s partly because there’s less freeware available but I also think it’s because using the Mac is such a more enjoyable experience I want to fill it with good programs to get things done.
Baggas - March 28th, 2008 at 9:04 amyep – i’d say two things… firstly, i just enjoy using my computer more, especially because using it just means opening it up, as opposed to the long-winded windoze wait. macs are just nice to use.
secondly, i don’t mind paying for software because the software is generally quite good – well-written and gets the job done nicely. I think you’re right about that – and most of the software isn’t overly pricey either, which is nice… unless it’s microsoft! i can’t believe the ridiculous price of mac office. i’d do without it if we weren’t now using exchange on our server.
ob1 - March 28th, 2008 at 5:32 pmHi Mark. Came across your blog the other day…thought I’d drop in and say ‘hi’. Glad to see you’ve also converted to Mac. Have had a G4 since college days, and a G4 powerbook that I replaced with my current MacBook… Will probably soon replace the G4 at home… mmmm.
Chris - April 1st, 2008 at 11:22 amMacs are just so refreshingly user-friendly for those who want to just ‘get the job done’. IT techs don’t seem to like them much – but I suspect that may be because they’d probably be out of job if the complex world of PC didn’t exist.
Say g’day to Nicki and the kids – I guess you’d be giving driving lessons these days!?
chris, how awesome to hear from you, mate! hope things are going really well for you guys.
see, i always knew you were cool, and now i know why! a mac fanboy… makes sense now…
and yes, the boy is starting to show an interest in getting the keys… scary stuff!
