apple leopard OSX 10.5

i love my macbook more and more all the time, and leopard has just taken the cool another notch up.

a couple of quick things… firstly, leopard has some excellent new features which are just awesome and really add to the usefulness of the mac for me. i won’t bother going into all the stuff they’ve added because it’s been done over and over again all over the web, but to actually play with it live is fantastic. well worth the wait and upgrade price of $150. if only stinking windows was that good or that cheap! dream on…

second bit of cool was that i pre-ordered this on the apple website and they promised a delivery on oct 26, the worldwide release date. i figured that they were kidding themselves and i would probably get it a couple of days later. but, to my total surprise, apple delivered my nice shiny disk on oct 26, as promised. it was nice to get the little package on friday afternoon and be able to play with it over the weekend. now, if there’s something i really value, it’s people doing what they say they’re going to do, so apple scored a big plus in my books with that little move. nice one!

Hey like the new theme – simple and strong.
I’m still equivocating on whether to make the big Mac leap – is it worth the extra expense and hassle of trying to learn a new OS, especially when I mostly just use my laptop for simple net use and the occaisional video/audio stuff? Probably I will, just need to work up a little more courage :)

good to see you back in business!
I bought a 2nd hand ibook the other day after going completely nuts with the MS windows garbage and ongoing problems….still figuring it out but it looks good.

do it, do it, do it… as i’ve said before, i just can’t understand why i hesitated before. i have NO regrets whatsoever, only many pleasures now at using a much better computing platform.

onya, baz, for taking the leap… the ibooks were cool. once you get going, i’m sure you’ll want to trade up for an intel-based macbook. interestingly, old macs seem to hold their value quite nicely, it seems, on the second-hand market – better than pcs.

I’m interested in getting it but with my ibook G4 I was planning on upgrading the ram then getting it.
But just reading some forums and people say it works well with base/older models.
So I’ll have to decide when to do it.
