• Enjoyed the extra hour this morning, & off to make of people who
  didn’t. Jonesy said I should. #

• Hot game – hoping Geelong can help my tipping along tonight! #
• Great to connect with Steve Hubbard at the G and to get a visit in at
  the hallowed museum. Cool! #
• Wow! That was waaay closer than it should have been! #
• Learning some really great stuff on mentoring and coaching here at
  Arrow. Great application for me in a number of spaces. #
• Ready for home. Quick continental hop & we’re there. #

• Finally in Melbourne. Hotel was a convenient walk from airport, &
  everything in the room is conveniently within reach…:-) #
• Enjoying the Arrow Mentoring Conference. Some awesome people in the
  room. #
• Just realized I don’t have ANY cash on me. Not a single cent. That’s
  fine unless you want to use a coke machine. Doh! #
• Sitting WAAAAAAY TOOOOOO LOOOOONG! And no decent coffee to make this
  possible… :-( #
• Off to the G for a little footy action tonight. I tipped Richmond last
  night (boo), so I’m hoping Geelong can keep their form tonight … #

• Great all-church prayer time tonight. Time for home & bed! #

• Got a bunch on this morning before heading to Melbourne midday. First
  priority – coffee! #
• Just to complicate things a bit, had to do an impromptu shopping
  adventure to find a card, a balloon and a flower. Tick. #
• Quadruple shot espresso – taking my day to a new level… #
• Adelaide just seems a LOT smaller than Perth. #

• The afternoon was still crazy, but it *was* better. And BBQ meatballs
  for dinner sealed the deal. Nice. #

This happens to pastors all the time, especially in smaller churches.

Never ceases to amaze me how far two sets of expectations can be from each other, and how the big evaluation every 3 (or maybe 5) years is a pretty stupid way to go. This is one of the key reasons I am committed to a 90 Day Goal process for all of our staff, where we have regular, small conversations about progress and expectations, rather than irregular, monster conversations every year or few years.
