he’s back to eating again, so i guess he must be feeling a bit better… :-)

gunny update

just a quick update on gunny – he’s cooled down a lot overnight, and seems to be a lot better, but still feeling a bit too weak to head out with max and me today. we’re going to let him stay in bed and rest up. keep praying… thanks!

  • It’s been a while since I’ve been 2 a place that is completely new 2 me, so Cambodia should be very interesting. Curious about the food! :-) #
  • Cambodia is HOT and HUMID. our aircon in the room seemed to finally cool things down in the early hours of the morning… phew! #
  • Gunny has been pretty sick – threw up a couple of times in the plane, and has bombed out in bed with a monster high temp. Pray! #

prayer

i’m currently in cambodia (haven’t stopped sweating since we got here!), and one of our team isn’t feeling too well. gunny reckons he got a bad batch of sushi for lunch in bangkok, and has been a teeny bit unwell. so, would appreciate your prayers for him – nothing like being down with a bit of food fun when far away from home.

  • We just shared a very special visit with one of the church elders at the leprosy village. It was humbling to have him pray for us. #
  • Enjoyed a HUGE Thai lunch in a rather creative restaurant which has these wooden long huts hanging over a river. Pretty cool spot! #
  • Thai massage hurts! But there’s also nothing quite like it to work out any tiredness or stress… Very nice! #
  • Another day of travel ahead, so a nice early start. Back 2 Bangkok so we can head to Phnom Penh. Not at all sure what Cambodia holds for us. #

  • Spent the morning at the leprosy village at Nomsomboon. Just so awesome and humbling to see how the food program we support works. Wow! #
  • There are so many foreigners here – and you get the impression that most are not here to give but to take. It bothers me a great deal. #
  • Weirdest thing last night – discovered that *theoretically* no-one is supposed to sell alcohol on the night before an election in Khon Kaen! #

  • Very hot and humid here in Thailand. Spent the morning in a meeting at Starbucks – there’s one in Khon Kaen but not in Perth! What gives?! #
  • Aaaah…. The simple pleasures of sitting in the open back of a ute down a Thai highway at night! Needed to cool down after a spicy dinner. #

Life Updates for 2008-04-16

  • Pretty good flight to Singapore, except for it being late. So now we’re rushing for our next flight! #
  • Well, made it to our Bangkok flight with minutes to spare, so all good. #
  • Just gotta love Thai driving! We’re just negotiating our way through Bangkok peak hour to get to the domestic airport for our last flight. #
  • Safe & sound in Khon Kaen after a full day of travel. Really looking forward to what God is going to reveal to us (after some solid sleep!). #

  • Big day today getting ready to head off to Thailand & Cambodia early tomorrow for a week. Got a pretty early start – leave home at 4am! #
  • Wow! 3.30 is an ugly time to be up. Anyways, don’t want to be late. Last trip I took with Gunny, we were late for EVERY flight! #
  • Airports have a weird life of their own – small cities which are awake 24/7. Anyways, all through the paperwork part and waiting to board. #
